Lamborghini Sián: The Last Bull To Roll Out Of Sant’Agata Bolognese

Lamborghini chose the 2019 Frankfurt Motor Show to present the latest bull to come out of its factory. It is called the Sián, and carries some design cues from a few Lamborghini creations history has seen. For example, the rear headlights are subtly inspired by the ones on the mythical Countach, and the front Y-shaped headlights come from the Terzo Millennio concept introduced in 2017.

Mechanically, the Sián pairs a naturally-aspired V12 to a new piece of technology: a 48-volt mild hybrid system. The V12 on its own cranks out 785 horsepower, and when taking the hybrid contraption in consideration, the output goes up to 819 horsepower. Basically, an electric motor sitting between the transmission and the engine gives an additional 34 horsepower under hard acceleration, but can also help with mileage – like Lamborghini owners care about that.

In other words, we could say that Lamborghini strapped a Taser to the bull’s balls to… give it that extra motivation.

As you can expect, this is going to be a low production vehicle. In fact, all 63 VIN numbers have already found a buyer. They will be carefully assembled Lamborghini’s Sant’Agata Bolognese factory in Italy, which we can expect that it will see more electrified bulls in the future.
