Here’s the Acura Type S Concept

We’ve been waiting for this for quite a while. Acura had announced the return of the Type S badge, but months and years went by without a blurb on info about the awaited comeback. Today, Acura shows us its stunning four-door Type S Concept. In reality, it is pretty much what the TLX Type S, one of the two models that Acura will slap the Type S badge on in the next two years. As far as the other model is concerned, we don’t officially know which one it’ll be, but we’re leaning towards an RDX Type S, that would make sense.

Unfortunately, we don’t have the lowdown on the engine just yet. But looking at the massive 21-inch wheels and the 4-piston Brembo calipers, we’re pretty positive this new addition to the Acura family will pack some punch.

The blue used for the color is called “Double Apex Blue Pearl”. And it was put there to remind us if the old ’07 and ’08 TL Type S. Pretty cool huh?

Otherwise, some subtle carbon fiber elements are scattered on the body, as well as an interesting headlight and taillight designs that Acura calls “Chicane”.

That’s pretty much all we know for now. But brace yourselves, news will probably start to pour in in the next days as this Acura Type S concept is unveiled at the Monterrey Car Week.
