A simple ECU software brings the 2020 Toyota GR Supra to 400+ hp

Litchfield is a premier race car perpetrator and performance tuner based in the UK. On top of preparing kickass-fast Audi, BMW, Ferrari, Ford, Nissan, Mercedes, Porsche, Subaru and VW cars, they also design an array of high performance parts and bits to make these cars better.

When the BMW-engined 2020 Toyota GR Supra popped its head in the automotive world, it didn’t take too long from Litchfield to snag it and study it to make it faster. As some of you may now, this 2020 Supra makes more power than advertised. Litchfield dyno baselined the 3.0-litre 6-cylinder engine at 376 horsepower and 390 lb-ft of torque on their MAHA dyno. Manufacturer specs say 335 horsepower and 365 lb-ft of torque.

Litchfield was able to develop a software upgrade for the ECU pretty quickly, and the results are quite satisfying, with 420 horsepower and 440 lb-ft. The company says there is no hardware upgrade needed to get there, but pictures showcase an aftermarket exhaust mounted on there, leading us to believe that they might be up to something on the part manufacturing side of things.

In a post published on Litchfield’s Facebook account, the company stipulated it is currently developing a suspension system for the 2020 Toyota GR Supra, as well as various cosmetic parts.
